HIHS Members Trading Centre

So you want cut price gardening material?
We have a Trading Centre on Legion Field, off Legion Road,
which is run by the members and sells a range of
gardening supplies at favourable prices.

HIHS Talks

URC hall
Talks on practical gardening and general topics,
are held monthly (except summer months) in the URC Hall.
These are illustrated and/or with practical demonstrations.
They take place in the afternoon and form a social occasion,
with a raffle, tea, coffee and biscuits plus a chance to chat.
Attendance is free to members.

HIHS Flower Shows

Community centre
We hold three Shows a year at the Community Centre,
for novices and experts alike, adults and children,
to exhibit flowers, shrubs, vegetables, indoor plants,
cookery, photography and handicrafts.

HIHS Coach Outings

Lucketts coach
The Society organises social outings by coach
to houses, gardens and other places of interest.

HIHS Group Summer Holiday

Our Chairman organises a short social holiday,
every summer for members and guests.

HIHS Newsletter

Newsletters are delivered by hand by HIHS volunteers,
organised by our Membership Secretary Lesley Tyrrell

Contributions for future editions are welcomed,
by our Newsletter Editor Lance Quantrill.

HIHS 100 + Club

Participating members pay a subscription of £12 per year.
There is a monthly draw with three prizes.
The 100+ Club is organised by Member Hazel Phillips.

Gardening Advice At Hand

Help is at hand for advice on gardening problems,
visit the Trading Centre during opening hours,
come to an afternoon talk, or flower show.
Alternatively use our Feedback Form
and we will try to give an answer.

The Hampshire Federation of Horticultural Societies
organise annual Competitions open to our members.

HIHS Officers and Organisation

The Society is run by its members for its members,
in accord with the Rules of the Society.
Members participate as and where to their wish.
All our social events and meetings
give opportunities to meet people and make friends.
The Club Officers serve a three year term.
Officers are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
All members are welcome to become involved.
To offer your services please advise the Club Chairman.
